Riverview is a  village along Northern bank of the Umfolozi river, on the southern edge of the GSWP. ( Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park) This village was originally developed to house the employees and management of the sugar mill based here. 

In the early days only sugar mill employees and management were allowed to live in Riverview, but this has changed and many of the employees and management have since purchased their properties, and some have developed these further.
