| Mtubatuba boasts with four major banks, three minor banks, the SAPO (South African Post Office) and a few micro lending institutions all offering financial services to the Tourism industry and the local business people.. There are a few ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) in Mtubatuba. Ned Bank, Standard bank and First national bank all have agencies in the town of St. Lucia, which are not open every day, but do have ATMs just out side their agencies for your convenience when visiting the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park attractions such as Cape Vidal, Mission Rocks, Catalina bay, Dukuduku forest, Ned Bank First National Bank Standard Bank ABSA Bank Banking hours are standard throughout South Africa as we use only one time zone, GMT + 2 for those elsewhere who need to contact south African banks. Norm al banking hours are 09 h 00 to 15 h 30 Monday to Friday and 09 h 00 to 11 h 30 on Saturdays, Banks are closed on Sundays and public holidays. Many of the bigger shops take credit cards but few shops in Mtubatuba and surrounding rural areas of the Greater St. Lucia wetlands park will exchange foreign currency. This needs to be done at banks and approved outlets, so do your homework and make sure you have enough cash, but be sure not to carry too much cash as crime is a problem in South Africa.
